Home/2010 photos/Greece/Southern Crete

Plakias, Triopetra and other Southern sites After a long, long day of flights and a good night sleep, we hopped in our rental car and drove down to the small town of Plakias. We decided on a hotel just as an afternoon rain storm was coming in. (Throughout our stay in Plakias we would see a lot of mixed weather but it only rained a few times over the days and never more than just a small shower.) Our simple hotel room overlooked the beach and the main coastal road and had a nice small porch from which we could watch the sunsets (or the weather coming in). We spent a few days around Plakias, checking out the neighboring beaches and an old Venetian fortress and then traveled further East along the coast. We spent another couple of nights in Agios Pavlos and the days around the nearby beaches before heading North.
