Knossos, Agios Pelagia & Rethymno Our first stop along the Northern coast of Crete was the ruins of Knossos which were interesting though smaller than we expected and heavily interpreted in its current state of reconstruction. From Iraklio we drove a bite West until we found a hotel overlooking the coast where we spent a night on our way towards Rethymnon. We only spent a day in Rethymnon, walking around the fortress, harbor and pedestrian streets before heading further West to Hania.
