Home/2007 photos/Thailand/Wat Arun

Our last day in Bangkok was spent doing some more sighseeing at Wat Arun On our last day in Thailand we checked out Wat Arun - the temple of the Dawn. This Wat is across the river from most of the Bangkok sights and so is accessed by a quick ferry ride. The grounds are not that big and are crowded with the different temple structures. The main structure, which looks so intriguing from a distance, is quite different up close, where the details in craftsmanship can be seen - and the make up of the building facade - a fresco of different materials, can really be appreciated. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the grounds and the buildings, eventually hopping on a ferry back across the river.
